John Foster on the Construction of the TAPI Pipeline

John Foster has given a brilliant lecture on the central role of the TAPI pipeline to the War in Afghanistan. This is the chilling reality of the war, to make Afghanistan an energy bridge. Foster is not some conspiracy theorist. He's a former World Bank energy economist. He's worked for large oil corporations such as BP.

By understanding how Afghanistan fits into the jigsaw of the New Great Game, the ostensible justifications for the War need to be looked at again. Yet the mainstream press is curiously reluctant to even discuss this. The time will come when this knowledge is standard historical knowledge.

The failure of journalists to mention this is disturbing. It is essential knowledge for any sane debate on why Afghanistan is being fought and what's at stake.
